Guide
Google Business Profile checklist.
A local business should make its website and Google Business Profile work together. Customers often compare both before calling. If the details disagree, trust drops quickly.
Profile basics to check
- Business name matches your real-world name.
- Phone number and website link are current.
- Hours are accurate, including holidays when possible.
- Categories describe what you actually do.
- Service areas are specific and realistic.
- Photos show real work, people, place, process, or results.
- Reviews receive calm, professional responses.
- Services and descriptions match the wording on your website.
Website connection
Your website should reinforce the profile. If the profile says you offer lawn care, deep cleaning, portfolio design, readings, or consulting, your website should have a clear section explaining that service. If the profile links to a homepage that does not mention the service, visitors may bounce.
Review and photo rhythm
Create a monthly habit. Add recent photos, check hours, answer reviews, and update services when your work changes. Do not invent reviews or use misleading photos. Real, current proof is more valuable than polished emptiness.
The goal is not to trick search engines. The goal is to make a customer feel confident that the business is active, reachable, and capable of doing the work described.
